Buy Back Service - Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to our Buy Back service as detailed on the Buy Back Service page on our website.

 

  1. Our Buy Back service is offered for UK specification laptops, PCs and tablets that are fully operational and no more than 7 years old.
  2. Products must be sent back in full working order. This means:

     

    • The computer powers up
    • The screen/display works and is not damaged
    • The computer does not have a BIOS password set
    • The keyboard and trackpad/pointer work and are free from damage
    • The hard drive or solid state state is fully functional
    • The installed processor and RAM work
    • The optical drive (if installed) works
    • The motherboard is fully functional
    • All ports and internal/external interfaces are operational including USB ports, VGA HDMI and other monitor connections, modem/Ethernet ports, PCMCIA slots and cards, built in memory card reader slot, sound card and biometric functions.
    • A laptop has a complete, working UK Qwerty keyboard
    • There is no significant physical or cosmetic damage to the device that would impair normal operation

     

  3. Any device you send back to us is packaged securely to avoid damage in transit. We cannot accept responsibility if your devices incur damage en route to us due to inadequate packaging.
  4. Any device you send to us is sent via a collection service arranged by us. We cannot accept responsibility for any devices you send to us via your own carrier that fail to arrive.
  5. Any device you send to us arrives at our premises within 14 days of the date we send you an initial valuation. If devices are received by us later than 14 days, the initial valuation is no longer valid and a new valuation will be made to you.
  6. Our initial valuation sent to you via email is an estimate only. A final valuation (a cash offer) will only be made once our technicians have received, inspected and tested your device.
  7. Any offer we make to you is based on your device accurately matching the description, condition and specification you submit to us via our website. Should this not be the case we will submit a revised offer to you. We classify product conditions as follows:

     

    Good

     

    • Computer should be fully functional.
    • No major/noticeable scratches on the chassis.
    • Laptop/tablet must include a working power supply.

     

    Average

     

    • Computer should be fully functional.
    • Some signs of previous usage (small scratches/wear to the chassis, and signs of wear on the
    • keyboard/trackpad/pointing device).
    • Laptop/tablet must include a working power supply.

     

    Poor

     

    • The computer should be fully functional.
    • Significant signs of cosmetic wear and tear and/or minor damage to the chassis.
    • The screen doesn't have any dents, holes, dead pixel clusters or other damage that stop it working properly.
    • A laptop/tablet holds at least 20 minutes charge, when not plugged in to the mains.

     

    Faulty

     

    • The computer doesn't power up
    • The screen/display is damaged or does not work properly
    • The computer has a BIOS password set
    • The keyboard and trackpad/pointer don't work
    • The hard drive or solid state state is faulty
    • The installed processor and RAM are faulty
    • The optical drive (if installed) doesn't work
    • The motherboard is not fully functional
    • Not all ports and internal/external interfaces are operational including USB ports, VGA HDMI and other monitor connections, modem/Ethernet ports, PCMCIA slots and cards, built in memory card reader slot, sound card and biometric functions
    • The laptop does not have a complete, working UK Qwerty keyboard
    • There is significant physical or cosmetic damage to the device that would impair normal operation

     

  8. You are entitled to accept or reject our final valuation (our offer) once made.

     

    • If you reject the final valuation, we will return the device to you free of charge.
    • If you accept the final valuation, we will issue a payment within 7 days of your acceptance of our offer. Payments can only be made to the person specified on the original form submitted via our website.

     

  9. We cannot accept any responsibility for the security, protection, confidentiality or use of any data stored on your devices. We are also unable to retrieve any customer data once the device has been received by us. As a business, we comply with strict data protection legislation governing the recycling of data bearing devices. As such, we employ procedures that ensure the safe and secure destruction of all data from devices we accept back for recycling.
