Returns Form

We make every effort to ensure products you purchase from The IT Bay arrive in tip top condition and we hope you're pleased with your ordered items. We appreciate however that there are times when you might need to return items to us. Your rights relating to returns depend on whether you are a business or a consumer and the reason for the return. We've summarised the key returns information below but please refer to our terms and conditions for full details.

Key Returns Information

If you are a consumer

  • You have a legal right to return most unwanted items within 14 days beginning with the day you receive the item. The IT Bay are currently offering an extended return period and will accept returns for unwanted items for up to 30 days from date of receipt. You do not have the right to return certain products to us. These include digital content, CDs/DVDs, electronic licenses, support contracts and custom built or tailor made products.
  • If you want to return goods to us, we will pay the costs of return if the goods supplied are incorrect, incomplete, faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose. We will not cover the costs of return if they were supplied correctly and completely, the items received are free from damage and are simply unwanted by you.
  • You must notify us in advance about your wish to return goods to us; please don't send products back to us without informing us first as they may be rejected.
  • You must arrange for the goods to be returned to us within 14 days of the date you notify us of your wish to return the goods. We recommend you get proof of postage if you choose to return the goods yourself rather than ask us to arrange a collection.
  • If you return unwanted goods for a refund within 30 days of receipt, a monetary deduction can be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you using or handling the product(s) more than was necessary. The extent to which you can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop. No deduction will be made however if the goods supplied are incorrect, incomplete, faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose.
  • If products we've supplied are incorrect, incomplete, faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose you are entitled to a full refund (including any delivery fees paid) as long as you notify us within 30 days from the date of delivery. We normally arrange for the collection of the products ourselves but if you choose to return such products to us, we will refund your basic delivery costs (up to £15) upon receipt of your proof of sending.
  • For faulty/damaged products notified to us after 30 days and within 6 months of the delivery date, we will normally arrange a repair or replacement. For anything beyond 6 months, you normally have to prove the fault was present when we initially supplied the goods or turn to the manufacturer for support under their warranty.
  • You can also use the manufacturer guarantee or warranty if your product develops a fault. It is usually quicker and easier to contact them directly for support in such cases.
  • Any goods you return to us must be packaged securely to avoid damage in transit. Ideally you should return the goods in the original packaging. You must return all supplied accessories, components and documentation. The goods must not be marked, defaced, damaged, altered or otherwise be returned to us in a condition which makes them unfit for re-sale (except for defects / faults which were present in the Goods upon issue by us).

If you are a business

  • Return requests will only be considered for products that we've supplied incorrectly or for goods that are incomplete, faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose. We will not normally accept the return of products that were supplied correctly and are of satisfactory quality.
  • You must notify us within 48 hours of receipt if there is a problem with your order or goods we've supplied are are incorrect, incomplete, faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose.
  • In all cases where Goods are to be returned to us, you must submit to us your returns request by submitting a returns form via our Website or emailing sales@theitbay.com to begin the returns process. If we accept your return request, we will issue you with an RMA number. No returns claim will be accepted unless you are in possession of a valid RMA number issued by us through this process.
  • You must arrange for the goods to be returned to us within 14 days of the date you notify us of your wish to return the goods. We recommend you get proof of postage if you choose to return the goods yourself rather than ask us to arrange a collection.
  • We will not usually accept a return for Goods which have been specially ordered, custom built or otherwise tailored to your specific requirements.
  • All goods returned to us must be returned in their original issued condition with no labels or other markings removed or tampered with. The goods must be properly packed and packaged (using an outer cover) and returned along with all manuals and other documentation which accompanied them upon issue. The goods must not be defaced, damaged, altered or otherwise be returned to us in a condition which makes them unfit for re-sale (except for defects / faults which were present in the goods upon issue by us). The RMA number should be clearly visible on a label on the outer covering. We may reject the return of any goods that do not comply with these requirements. If we accept the return of such goods (which will be at our sole discretion) then we reserve the right to charge a re-stocking / handling fee.
  • Return requests will not be accepted from any customer whose account or accounts have been suspended for any reason.
