Buying a Lenovo monitor

There are a number of things you should consider before buying a Lenovo monitor, such as display type, resolution, and of course screen size. There are three types of display, each with its own pros and cons. TN panel monitors are the cheapest you can buy. They have quick refresh rates for high responsiveness (good for gaming) but have inferior viewing angles, colour reproduction and contrast ratios than other panel types. This means TN panels are not a good choice for photo/video editing. IPS panels cost more but offer the best colour depth and viewing angles making them ideal for professional creatives requiring accurate colour reproduction. VA panels provide the best contrast and image depth but otherwise fall somewhere in between the two other types.

Picture quality

Generally, the higher the resolution, the more lifelike and better-quality the picture will be. For most of us, a Full HD (1920x1080 pixels) monitor is plenty sharp and clear. It's perfect for office work, streaming videos and other general uses. QHD monitors (also known as 1440p, WHQHD, or quad HD) feature 2560 x 1440 pixels, resulting in crystal clear and smooth images. They're ideal for creative workers such as photographers and graphic designers. If you're going to buy a big display (greater than 27"), a quad HD monitor will produce a smoother picture than a Full HD monitor. 4K UHD monitors (also known as 4K, UHD, or 2160p) include four times the number of pixels of a normal full HD monitor - 3840x2160 pixels.

Screen size

The size of a monitor is always determined by diagonal distance from the top left to bottom right side, and typically stated in inches. If you have a bigger monitor, then you have more space to fit everything on the screen without needing to be close up and squinting. Larger monitors do take up more desk area and weigh more though.

Connectivity

Finally, make sure to check the connectivity options on any Lenovo monitor you're considering. Most models these days come with at least one DisplayPort and HDMI port, but some also include Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C. Depending on your needs, you'll want to make sure the monitor you choose has the right ports for your devices.
